Santa Fe Dog is located in a clean, comfortable, 1900 sq ft. studio located at 1807 Second Street, Ste #42, Santa Fe, NM 87505.
All classes are currentnly held at the Second Street location above. Field classes are on hold.
Studio Directions-Turn off Second St. in front of Cloud 5 and drive down the row until you see a parking lot on the left. There are pretty blue planters in front. Look for the Santa Fe Dog #42 signage on the walls on the left. Plenty of parking and easy to find.

Foundation Skills 2.0 (Handlers Choice)
Motivational training to create a toolbox of problem-solving skills, and further develop a common language for you and your dog. A small class format allows us to design this class to fit the handler’s and dog’s skills. The team will learn and recognize the benefits of Engage and Disengage, Attention/Focus games, Wait/Stay, On/Off targeting, Come to heel on the right and left, Whiplash turnl, Pivot games, Leash handling skills, Variations on Leave it, Casual vs Formal modificatons and as an experiment, Intro to cooperative husbandry skills. Learn how to install a verbal cue vs a physical cue. You WILL need to work with your dog a wee little bit between classes to keep up with the material. 5-10 minutes a day. If homework isn’t you, that is ok, and this is not the class for you at this time. This fun class is suitable as an ongoing training “Lab” for YOU and your dog.
Prerequisite: Teams should have completed two previous classes with their dog or have worked privately with a professional instructor. The handler should be able to elicit a sit, a down, and get the dog’s attention. Dogs should be generally friendly with dogs and people, but we don’t mind a little rah-rah. Ask if you are concerned about your dogs behavior in a class environment. Small Class format is limited to 5 dog/handler teams, so there is time for personal attention. *First class is a required orientation without dogs in attendance*
Fee: $280 inc tax. Six sessions. (Saturdays 11:30am-12:30pm) Orientation is 4/23/2022 4/30, 5/7-5/28.

Rally-Obedience 1.x Novice Signs Class
Novice Leash handling for the mostly beginners and their dogs using Rally Obedience patterns to give you tools for a more pleasant walking on leash experience. Dogs and handlers will begin to learn how to engage and disengage from distractions in the environment in a fun and positive manner.
Prerequisite: Dog and handler must have completed 2 basic classes together prior to taking this class. Dogs should be generally friendly with dogs and people, but we don’t mind a little rah-rah. Questions? Ask!.
First session is a required orientation, so no dogs attend. This series will continue as 1.1, 1.2, 1.3…1.6 giving you 36 weeks of classes, if you so choose! You will become familiar with all Novice Rally Obedience Signs and the skills needed to complete a Rally Obedience Course.
Limit 5 teams in each class. Cost: $280 including tax for six sessions payable at first session. 1.x First session is a required orientation to Rally without the dogs present. There are no orientations for 1.2, 1.3-1.6.

Rally-O + T.E.A.M. Advanced Class :
Classes in this time slot will include Intermediate/Advanced/Excellent Rally O maneuvers and T.E.A.M support. This is a ongoing advanced skills class. Registration preference is given to up to 6 handlers able to attend entire class series. We have new material and new courses to learn!
Prerequisite: Dog must be generally friendly and controlled on or off leash. Courses cover Rally O material. T.E.A.M props are supplied, though you are welcome to bring your own props.

Agility Level 1 – Tiny Dog Agility (DATE-TBD)
A tiny dog indoor fun class using ground work exercises and agility obstacles. Build confidence and learn a handling system your dog can really understand. Suitable for all tiny dog handlers interested in recreational agility. Learn what is necessary to belong to a Tiny Dog agility group. Have some new fun and further develop a common language between you and your dog. Learn Stay, Back up, Heel on the right and the left, Stand, 2 on-2 off Contacts, Jumps, Tunnels and Teeter games. Food and Toys are used as reinforcers. We don’t say no…We say YES! Dogs should be generally friendly with people and dogs, but we don’t mind a little spirit!
Prerequisite: Maximum 10 inches at the shoulder. 15 lbs or less. Dog should be able to generally come when called amid distractions, Ability to Focus on handler will make for a more pleasant handler experience. Activity Level for Dogs and handlers: Moderate
Class size is limited to 6 Tiny dog/handler teams.

Agility Level 1-(Date/Time- TBD)
A recreational indoor class using ground work exercises and agility obstacles. Build confidence and learn a handling system your dog can really understand. Suitable for all dog handlers interested in Dog sports. Building control and having fun with your dog while preparing for Agility is the purpose of this class. Learn what is necessary to belong to a agility group. Have some new fun. Learn Back up, Heel on the right and the left, Stay, Stand, 2 on-2 off Contacts, Tunnels and hoops, Teeter games. Food and Toys are used as reinforcers. We don’t say no…We say YES! Dogs should be generally friendly with people and dogs.
Prerequisite: Dog should be able to generally come when called amid distractions. Ability to focus on handler amid some distractions will make for a more pleasant handler experience. Focus and name response can be learned in other Foundation classes… See Foundation and Foundation 2 if your dog can not come when called. Recreation for Special Dogs Class! (Day/Time TBD)
A non-impact indoor class designed for fun and mental enrichment and fitness conditioning, using Rally Obedience Signs, and Agility obstacles. Suitable for the shy dog, mobility challenged dog, older dog or differently abled dog. Build confidence and learn a handling system your dog can understand. Have some new fun. Back up, Heel on the right and the left, Send outs, Stand, Down, Targeting, Hoops and Tunnels and Rockers. This non impact class is for older dogs, mobility challenged dogs…or shy dogs and their people…shy or not! A NO PRESSURE, Just ALL FUN class.
Dogs and people should be generally good with people and other dogs. We won’t mind a bit of excitement or a shy dog…or a handler that could use some confidence building. If you have questions about the suitability of this class for you or your dog, please call to discuss!
